Give the Gift of MA Women’s History

December 15, 2022 By Michelle Juralewicz

Dear Friend,

Since 2010, with the support of friends like you, Suffrage100MA has worked to provide inclusive, educational, cultural, and civic programming about women, including our annual Women’s Equality Day event, centered on promoting the important intersectional history of women’s voting rights and inspiring future generations to exercise their franchise.

2023 is Suffrage100MA’s year of “Looking Forward” — and we need your support!

We are honored and excited to have begun creating and transitioning to become an online Massachusetts Women’s History Center (MWHC) and Massachusetts Women’s Hall of Fame (MWHOF)! The MWHC will build on our work telling the inclusive stories of the suffragists, and expanding to share inspiring historical and educational information on the important contributions and challenges endured by Massachusetts women of all backgrounds over the centuries, and of major milestones in MA women’s history. Our evolution will include a new website, logo and branding, which will be unveiled at an event in the summer of 2023. The Massachusetts Women’s Hall of Fame (MWHOF) will honor women past and present. Stay tuned!

In 2023, we will also continue our live and virtual programming, unveil two additional Massachusetts women’s suffrage markers in the spring (Maria Baldwin in Cambridge and Sojourner Truth in Florence), host our annual Women’s Equality Day event in August, and much more.

As you know, THE WORK FOR WOMEN TO ACHIEVE EQUALITY IS NOT DONE, so please support Suffrage100MA with a donation as part of your year-end giving to help us embark on our exciting next chapter creating a MWHC and MWHOF.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you for being on this journey with us!

Best wishes for the holidays and New Year!

Suffrage100MA, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, is dedicated to commemorating the anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1920, prohibiting the federal and state governments from denying the right to vote on the basis of sex. Suffrage100MA presents activities that highlight the history of women’s rights, notably the essential contributions of women of color, whose role in the suffrage movement has been largely overlooked.
