Since 2010, with the support of friends like you, Suffrage100MA has provided free educational and civic programming about women’s history, centered on promoting the important intersectional history of women’s voting rights and inspiring future generations to exercise their franchise.
2024 will truly be a New Year and a new chapter for Suffrage100MA — and we need your support!
In 2023, Suffrage100MA officially kicked-off our transition to become the Massachusetts Women’s History Center (virtual at first) with its flagship program, the Massachusetts Women’s Hall of Fame! This past June 14, Suffrage100MA hosted its first-ever Gala at The Liberty Hotel in Boston, honoring special longtime supporters Nancy Beeuwkes, Senate President Emerita Harriette Chandler, and Charlotte Golar Richie! We summarized our past 13 years with this 5 min video complete with gorgeous music, and provided a sneak-peek of our new website and logo!
As we developed the MWHC with the MWHOF in 2023, we continued to offer Suffrage100MA programming: We unveiled Massachusetts women’s suffrage markers on the National Votes for Women Trail for Sojourner Truth in Northampton and Maria L. Baldwin in Cambridge. In March, we hosted a Women’s History Month film screening in Gloucester with the League of Women Voters of MA and local Leagues, and helped lead the 25th Annual Boston Area International Women’s Day Breakfast. In August, we held our annual Women’s Equality Day commemoration in the Boston Public Garden near the Boston Swan Boats with the theme, Women’s Health & Maternal Health Crisis of Women of Color, co-hosted with two of our 200+ wonderful partners: the City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Women’s Advancement and Our Bodies Ourselves Today.
Our gratitude to our partners and friends for joining us for these uplifting programs!
Now, we need your help to continue providing robust FREE resources and events with a much broader scope of Massachusetts women’s intersectional history with the new MWHC and MWHOF.
The MWHC will spotlight Massachusetts women who became inventors, politicians, activists, artists, military heroes and more, despite the inequities they’ve faced across centuries. And we will encourage people today to take action through voting, activism and civic engagement.
Please support Suffrage100MA with a donation as part of your year-end giving to help us expand our work with our exciting next chapter as the MWHC with the MWHOF!
On behalf of our entire team, thank you for being on this journey with us!
Onward and warm wishes for the holidays and New Year!
