Join us on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 for a free film screening of the musical theater production, We Did It For You! Women’s Journey Through History, followed by a Q&A session with Playwright Thea Iberall. Hosted by Suffrage100MA.
We Did It For You! Women’s Journey Through History is an engaging musical journey of the struggles and triumphs women have undergone to get their basic rights in America—as told by the women who led the fight! A high school student has a history project to figure out who has done the most for women of today, and she is guided by remarkable activists from the past to learn the answer. Originally a staged performance, We Did it For You! is now a film. It is the ideal history lesson disguised as entertainment. The typical response after any performance of the show has been “I didn’t know all that.” Many girls respond by saying, “I didn’t know learning could be so fun.”
And as it’s Black History Month, the portrayals of Fannie Lou Hamer, Pauli Murray, Rosa Parks and Sojourner Truth are a timely celebration of Black women activists.
