Help us to reach 1000 Classrooms!
In August 2020, Suffrage100MA premiered our first-ever voter education film, The Fight for Women’s Suffrage: Looking Back, Marching Forward, which shares the stories and sacrifices of the suffragists, especially women of color, who fought tirelessly for decades so that all of us could vote. The voting rights story—from the 1700s through the passage of the 19th Amendment, to the present-day— is told by Governor Baker, Senator Warren, Congresswomen Clark & Pressley, Attorney General Healey, other elected officials, community members, and local artists.
Our vision is to spread the film far and wide by building relationships with colleges and high schools throughout the Commonwealth and identifying 1000 college professors and high school teachers who will screen our film virtually in their classrooms. Our hope is that students will be moved by the herstory of the suffragists and inspired to become civically engaged and VOTE!
Our film is available for educators to stream at any time by clicking the button below.
